Usually, a kid grows up with a lot of dreams and imagination about what he wants to be when he grows up. But. for most kids, by the time he grows up, his circumstances lead him into a certain profession. Some people are successful in persuing a profession which they have dreamt of and which makes them feel that they are happy doing it. Most of others follow guidance from their parents and peers who tell them that what made them successful into that particular profession. Most of us choose a profession because if we dont have enough money, then we choose it to earn money. If we have enough money, then we choose what makes us happy. I have heard that if we choose a profession which we like, we will always be happy. But personally, I dont think thats true. Because if our chosen profession does not let us earn as much money as we think we need to live and enjoy life, then thats not going to give us happness anyways. If you are into a profession which you dont like but if you must do it in order to keep making money, try to keep your interest as a hobby. Do it only few hours during weekends. It may still give you a reason for enjoying your life. I always dreamt of doing something which would bring those comic characters into life. By the time I grew up, Walt Disney had already introduced the animated cartoon films. But I could not persue my dream although I learnt computer graphics and animations. Today I am a business enterpruner. My main work is sales. But I dont regret because by the time I grew up and did some jobs to earn enough money in order to start my own computer studio, my employers convinced me that i am excellent at sales and i could work wonders if i focussed on this side of my career. I thought and followed their thought. It did work wonders. Today, I am happy where I am. But I still encourage youngsters to persue their dreams. Because somewhere on the way, they will get good guidance and they might want to use their creativity in doing better than what they thought they could do !

I didn't really choose my profession I kind of fell into it. I got out of college during a bad recession and it took me a whole year to find full time work. That was 15 years ago and I've just never left it.

I've always loved infants, toddlers, and young children. I also have a love of music.
I started college with a Music Education major and decided to switch to Early Childhood/Elementary Education.
I have one more year before I actually get to start my career. I've enjoyed my time in my practicums and observation hours in the classrooms. I work at a child care center and have been there for 3 years. I really enjoy it.
Young kids are still innoscent (for the most part). They make you laugh. They make you realize what's important in life. They know how to have fun. I think it's important to help kids become the best they can be since they will be our nation's (and world's) future leaders.
