No happy ending. Basically she and her dad move after her mother's death. She soon meets a new friend named Charlie which alarms her dad because he starts doing weird things like drawing disturbing pictures and writing on the walls.
Then dad starts dating Elizabeth Shue. Dakota comes down to dinner and starts acting out. Shue ends up going out the window thanks to Charlie which turns out to be DeNiro's other personality. The plot is full of holes and the is derivative of several other movies.

I've seen the movie and I got disappointed. First of all it supposed to be a scary movie and all the time I was like "When is it going to end?" Second of all, I didn't like that her father was Charlie and no, the end is not happy because...

Well i saw the movie hise and seek and thought it was fantastic! I really recomend watching it! Well the ending is a bit happy! but i can't tell you it'll spoil the movie!!

It had a few different endings, not too happy.
I have to admit I was very disappointed with it. Halfway through you could figure out "the twist."
