If you can't handle a breast and pelvic exam you are going to HATE this pregnancy. There will be soooo many people looking at your business...you may as well get used to it. The baby comes first, not you.

Generally the first appointment will take place around 8 weeks, some practitioners like to wait until 10-12 weeks for several reasons, which vary. This is usually your longest appointment because of the prenatal and medical history that is taken. You will be asked questions about your health, your medical history, your menstrual history, your lifestyle, and your family's medical history. This is also a time to ask more questions. A lot of people want to know about nutrition, sexual relations, exercise, what limitations they have.

Here are some of the clinical tests that maybe performed at the first visit:

* Pelvic Exam (Pap Smear, bimanual exam, GC)
* Blood Work (Rubella titer, Hematocrit/Hemoglobin, HIV/AIDS)
* Blood pressure
* Urine Screen
* Weight
* Breast Exam

You will have some of these done at every visit (blood pressure, urine screen, weight, and later they will add a fundal height check and listening for the baby heartbeat (About 12 weeks is average to hear the heartbeat with a Doppler.)). Generally you will not have a vaginal exam done every visit. If you do, you might enquire as to the reason, because this is not generally necessary.

They may not see u until around the 9th or 10 th week because u are still newly pregnant. Your first visit will consist of blood work done to test for certain things. They willw rite down your history and ask you questions.Then they will calculate going by your lmp how far along you are in your pregnancy and give u an expected due date.

They give u a mammogram to rule out lumps in the best etc. They will check your heartrate and your blood pressure at every visit starting at your first as well. Depending on the doctor they may or may not give u an u/s to see if there is more than one baby and to check your dates...U will probably get a prescription for prenatal vitamins as well..if they dont offer them ask,sometimes it skips there mind and u need to be on these asap. They will check your cervix as well to make sure everything is intact and she may give u a pap smear at your first visit.. this consists of putting your feet in stirrups and taking a swab that is like a big q-tip and swabbing the inner vagina to test for infection,bacteria,std etc.dont worry it doesnt hurt a bit...every doc is different but usually this is what goes....Make sure u right down any questions u may have that u can ask at the first visit...Good Luck!

Every appointment you urinate to test for sugar and protein in the urine. The first one is sometimes a consult or sometimes they get into the work. You usually will get a pregnancy blood test panel which includes your blood type, rheus - or +, a cbc panel, hiv and std testing, and blood immunities. Then a pelvic exam which is a papsmear to test for abnormal cells. Sometimes an ultrasound if insurance allows for it is conducted. As the baby gets older they measure the uterus by touch and use a device called a doppler to check for heartrate.

Good luck!

I went when i was 8-9wks along and they ask you ?'s health wise like your family medical history and the father's side history as well. If you dont know much they'll just have you ask the dad and next visit you can tell him, thats just a percaution for baby health .
Then they will give you a sonogram- internal ultrasound. The baby looks like a peanut. Nothing to be scared of!!
GOOD LUCK just had a son on new years. Joy of my world.

My first dr appointment was just a blood test and an ultrasound. I had low progestrian and he wanted to make sure that everything was ok. But the first normal appointment was a pelvic exam, urine test, weight, blood pressure normal stuff like that. Don't worry it isn't a big deal.

i assume it extremely relies upon on the wellbeing practitioner yet they're going to do a vaginal test and additionally you mustn't be waiting to take heed to the heart beat you will in basic terms be waiting to work out it. Sorry I already can no longer keep in mind the way it replaced into with my first. the toddler continues to be so small at 8 weeks once you notice a image of him/her it is going to look like somewhat peanut interior of you. they'll surely do extra suitable than take blood. i think of it could be stable for him to be there. i might say the 1st few visits are the perfect yet after that it gets sort of habitual and all they do is weigh you, hear to the heart beat, degree your abdomen. My husband got here with me very virtually each and every appointment and that i think of that in basic terms makes it extra undemanding for them to work out that it is extremely real and for them to sort of have a think approximately the completed ingredient. stable good fortune, my first wellbeing practitioner's appointment is next Thursday, i'm so excited!!!
