Well I'll be dammed my dear friend, I adore the song Mother of Mine which was sung by a young Scottish boy called Neil Reid, He was on Hughie Greens Opertunity knocks back in late 60's or early 70's i am forever sending my mum that song by him. Whenever I made a tape for her, now CD's. Every tape I sent to her as a child always had mother of mine at the start, middle and end of tape. I still have the record by Neil Reid, he sung it beautifully as a child. I bumped into him at Glasgow airport away back in 1973 when he returned to Scotland on a flight from London with his dad. I worked across the road from the Airport at the then called Excelsior hotel, I spent a lot of my spare time at the airport as I lived in at the airport staff quarters.
Getting back to mothers day songs, this year I bought her IL Divo DVD and it has a song in it that I sent to my mum when they first brought it out, its called MaMa, when I listened to it the first time and quite a few times after, it reduced me to tears the words just crack me up and still do.
When they brought the video out it was even more sad, when I sent the cd up first my mum was always crying as she played it, I live nearly 500 miles from her and just cannnot jump in a plane and go and visit her because I need a kidney machine to keep me alive, without it I could be dead within a month. She wanted me to send her the DVD, I told her no as it was too sad as u see the mum in a coffin being carried through the old town in Italy going to the cemetry.
She still wanted me to send her it, so I did. As of today she hasnt seen the video on DVD as she cannot operate her DVD player, crikey will I get her on phone in floods of tears when she sees the video.

"Sadie" by the Spinners reminds me of all the females in my family - who have passed away. Also, a gospel song entitled: "Somebody Prayed For Me". My Mother went home to be with the Lord about 4 years ago and I still feel her presence and love. Thank you for asking.
