I myself am pretty happy when my answer get selected as best answer. I feel this way as I know that what knowledge I have in the given subject is being picked as best/most informative out of all the answers given. So it makes me feel really good, and as such I am happy with myself for having been able to help someone out.

I don't really care about the points. I always look forward to reading the response. I hate it when I give out a really detailed or thoughtful answer, get picked as best answer and all I get in return is "thx"

Well, it depends on the nature of the question for
me. If it's about certain values or attitudes or
viewpoints or opinions, then I know somebody
else out there is in my club. A sense of belonging,
when those kinda questioners pick me.

It makes me smile, I get really happy when I wake up in the morning, check my mail and have muliple best answers. My record was 7 in one night, now THAT made me happy.
