That would be awkward; I'd be like "I am straight, sorry; and we apparently can't be friends anymore."

I would decide he was probably gay but I cared for him anyway. Then I would answer his text and go to see him. This is a call for sympathy and most importantly Needed attention! Do not be disgusted with him. That would drive him over the brink. Tell him you're not gay but he is still your mate.
Gays are present from African tribes to Eskimos, so let that sink in too if you're bothered.
Suicide messages and letters etc. are a cry for help. They are miserable. They are also practicing for what the real act would require. Some people have been known to threaten suicide 30 times and then finally Do It. And it hurts to have that on your mind after the fact, no matter what you think now.
Try to help him and find some counselor at work or school that has dealt with suicidal people. Talk to his parents if you can (with his permission) and actively try to help him solve his problems, stopping short of being his lover (which he probably thinks would solve his problems but it won't unless you are gay also). Believe me when I say that if you turn your back on a mate that says he loves you and wants to die, it will hurt you all your life.
I lost 2 people to suicide. Try to help him now. Do your best because that beats nothing. If he does go through with it someday, you can remember you tried and that is a great comfort you will need. Good luck.

First I would call the police,,,,, and tell them what you received,,,,, then let them take proper actions to say this persons life. Then I would not pay much more attention to it. You can not control how anyone acts or thinks, therefore you are not to blame for anything. As far as him being gay,,, that is his problem. I would probably feel flattered and rub it into the girls I know, that the only person with good taste that I know happened to be a guy. LOL

I think u have to get over the fact that there are people out there who are gay and help your friend instead. Saving a persons life is more important then whether they actually are gay or not.
So to begin with, talk to your friend and make sure that he doesnt go ahead with it and kill himself.
Once that is sorted, then u can talk about his sexuality and explain that u are not interested. Your friend is obviously unstable though so be sensitive to his feelings; dont be too harsh or blunt.

It would shake me a bit, if I found out that someone I thought as a friend was in love with me- same sex or otherwise. But it would not 'creep me out'. If it was a call for help, I would do all I could. But if the suicide bit was for attention, or emotional blackmail, it would upset me. But I would check it out the first time to make sure .

The first thing i would do was stop him from killing himself. Then,i would sit down and get to the bottom of the matter.I would really care for him and explain that i was straight and cant act against my sexuality.I would honestly explain why it was impossible to love him back in a very understandable manner.

Well, it's now 9 hours since you posted, so your friend may already be dead. If he's not dead, get some help for him. He's definitely suicidal. And you don't want that on your conscience.
As for his inappropriate comments, if he's still alive, just tell him that you are flattered by his love for you but that you are not interested in him in that way. And that you hope you will remain platonic friends.

That's a tough question, but I think I'd call 911 to go to them just in case. Then I'd probably stay away from them, honestly. I'd tell them to get help. I would just never take that stuff lightly because I'd never want to feel responsible for a persons death because I didn't take them seriously.

Yeah I don't know.. maybe try and help him by saying you're here for him. He's probably just confused and will sort things out once he feels more emotinoally stable.
