Can anyone enlighten me of the author of a poem about the Sallee Rovers? Piracy type of thing, with references to the Barbary Coast? That's all I know, given the vague details by my dad!! Thanks

This poem is called The Ballad of an Irish Muslim by Lakhdar O'Barrett. You can find it on www.mujca.com/poetry. It is number 9 on the list.

If you wish to know about the jihad that occurred in the 17th century when the Morrocan pirates from Sale, Morroco - hence the name, kidnapped thousands of Cornish people and sold them into slavery then look at: www.jihadwatch.org/archives
