What do music theorist and historians do?

Please tell me what the jobs are, what they do, salary (if possible) and kinds of education you need. Thanks

what you would do is analyze the crap out of music.... and then teach it to other people... usually in a college setting...

and if you are lucky, people will talk about you in articles....

the fun part is where you can write criticisms on the music and work for a magazine or newspaper...

really, unless you are lucky, you won't make a lot of money. i would say a descent lifestyle for having an education. see, it all depends upon who, what, when & where as to how much education you need.
