Okay so I am 14 now but when I get older I want to live on little money (money for rent thats it.) I will work but I will not pay for food or clothes (Dumpster dive instead. After I pay my rent the rest of the money will go to charity) My father is trying to convince me not to, saying no women will go out with me if I do (I'm a lesbian), Is that true? If you knew someone who lived like I intend to would you date them ?

You actually want to "make" the conscious decision to "dumpster dive?" How in the world does that make any rational sense? Tell you what, I believe in money, so why don't you donate to my charity. I could use the additional loot. I would still be shaking my head at your question except for the fact that I realize you're 14 and maybe after 4 more years, you'll change your tune.

The question is not whether someone would date you. The question is would you want to go out with someone whose standards are so low that they're willing to join you in dumpster diving for dinner.

I live modestly, but I own my home, pay my bills and eat well, and I give to charity. One does not have to behave like a scavenger in order to be charitable.

Most people of intellectual integrity want to serve as a good example to society at large, not spend time looking for half-eaten tofu stir fry behind Chez Panisse. You would be more helpful to the world if you left the dumpster trash for those whose lives truly depend on it. Or better yet, make enough money so that you can drive by the dumpster and invite those who are scavenging to dinner at your home...a real dinner that is fresh, well-prepared, and served with a bit more dignity.

Umm... Its not the fact that you would donate your money to charity, but the whole dumpster diving thing is just out there. Lesbians are like everyone else, we like nice things and nice looking girls too. OK? I would listen to your dad and not go to extremes. Money isn't everything, but it sure is nice to have.

HELL NOOOO
money makes life easy,beautiful...can buy you happiness
why the hell would anyone want to dumpster dive??or eat from garbage...etc
use your money on yourself, husband and your kids
if you have some extra cash(you don't need)you can send it to charity

Why ever are you doing it for?
Is it for a religious cause? Like some religious who make vows of
poverty, chastity and obedience.
Or you just prefer dumpsters?

If it is for a cause maybe you'll find somebody who will believe in it as you do.

No, eating out of a dumpster is extremely unsanitary and unhealthy and it will make you sick. If you have the money for food, you should buy food. You should only eat from the garbage if you literally have no other way of getting food.

I donno. I'm not against anything ever, but unfortunately I'm not lezbian. My best friend is though, and we both agree that it doesn't matter cuz "when a person falls inlove a person falls inlove"- u no what I'm sayin'?-What I'm saying is whatever you are some1 will love you as long as you love yourself and if that's what makes you truly happy with yourself some1 will love you just the way you are but just make sure you make this life good cuz you only live once and even if you don't believe that we don't need to waste it!Good Luck and Take Good Care of Yourself!

Yes! of course! If we lived on an island, where we were the only two and we had to hunt to eat, live in a cave, kill animals for clothes and walk to get around. Money! well! I guess thats good to get a fire started.

It seems like you may have been dealing with someone who put the love of money before the love of you. Remember this if you really want to help people having money gives you the option of doing so. Seek wisdom and know that you are of great value.
