It would be a big help if anyone could tell me how to reset the ECU myself because i have recently done work to it myself but i need to reset ecu to clear all codes to

yes I have just fitted a camshaft sensor,mass air flow sensor and engine coolant sensor so i need to reset ECU.

how long should i leave the battery off for?

Got to go to local vauxhall garage, they will use their diagnostic equip (Tech 2) to reset. Disconnecting battery does not work, ecu will still have relevant trouble codes stored.

Ex vauxhall technician.

Read somewhere that you just disconnect battery,leave it disconnected for a while and codes will clear,from memory.Have a look at this website,you will find it very helpful.www.topbuzz.co.uk For vauxhall drivers.Im an astra sports man and it helped me.

remove the battery and connect the posative terminal to earth for ten mins then refit the battery, ecu reset

30 mins will do, if it doesnt work then your loacl garage should do it for around 25-35 quid
