1. If you happen to pull off the pavement & the rear wheels loose traction.

2. On slippery roads.

3. On washboard gravel roads - keeps the rear of the vehicle from bouncing sideways & loosing control.

4. When you are locked in 4WD. The vehicle handles differently, especially in the snow & ice. The rear end does not spinout. The truck tends to slide in the opposite direction of travel.

e.g.
Your are accelerating while turning to the right, the vehicle may stay straight of slide to the left.

PS - I live on the LEFT Coast, have lots of experience with 4 X 4's. [repairing & driving]

Soggy and muddy ground because to prevent the truck form bogging down.

when it snows heavy basically, and last year I used mine for pulling out some shrubs.
