Never.
And Vista isn't as bad as everyone says it is--it's just not great enough to upgrade to from Windows XP.

Buy it anytime you are ready...
I cannot believe all this nonsense about waiting for it to get "fixed".
It is as stable as any other version of Windows, AND when patches, or service packs are necessary all it takes is a simple online update.
People who bought XP on the original CD do not have a lesser version or license than people who bought the SP2 CD released a year or so later ....
All they do is click on "Windows Update" & it's done .
It's not like buying a car ... it's software, & patches & updates & service packs will be a fact of life for a long long time to come.
Anyone who is waiting for the perfect Windows that will never need a patch or an update is dreaming ...
I do not wish to seem disrepectful or arrogant, however, I frequent this forum regularly & CANNOT get over how many people keep suggesting that we wait on Vista because it's flawed or incomplete...
THERE WILL ALWAY BE UPDATES.
FYI ... I am not addressing you directly, but all the ones who led you to believe that nonsense.
A busines has various reasons for waiting ... reasons that do not apply to a consumer. Consumers can turn on a dime.
A business that just upgraded 500 PCs to Vista cannot... They have to move cautiously, justified or not.

Dude!
Windows Vista is yet another SOFTWARE.
And it nearly impossible to create bug-FREE softwares. I myself am into software development and like to say that
"Softwares cannot be bug-free. Rather bugs can come free with softwares."
Now as far as Vista is concerned, I am sure MS will release some fix packs (and patches) for it, in case some critical bugs are discovered. As you plan to buy genuine Vista, you should get those patches for free from Microsoft.
So, actually, whether Vista gets bug FREE by July should not actually be a cause of concern.
Hope I answered your question!
Ciao!!
Cheers!!!
