Superman is often a government tool, and he seems perfectly happy to be that way. So if he went out with the XMen he'd probably want to bring them all in for testing.

They're OK as long as they don't start drinking ... then Cyclops and Superman would have a contest to see whose vision is more destructive ... Wolverine would whip out his claws to find out just how invulnerable Superman's skin is ... Colossus would challenge Supes at arm-wrestling and they'd smash up a dozen tables ...
And Wonder Woman and Jean Grey would sit quietly at a table in the back, sipping zinfandel, watching the guys and thinking "...idiots..."

Of course they get along. Superman works well with others most of the time. Just look at the Justice League. They would probably compare notes.
