together the new bookshelf she got? She has never learned to do these kind of things, and my wife wants us to help her.

Of course, show her the techniques of holding a screwdriver, how she needs to be gentle sometimes and to be forceful at others. how to position that screwdriver correctly at the opening of the hole ( she made for the screw ) and how to push it in. tell her that you are more than willing to give her as many lessons as she needs at screwing ( the shelf in ) til she gets it right. Best of Luck :)

Very cute how you worded that, by the way. I couldn't believe someone would actually ask a question the way it was insinuated. There's a great joke in there somewhere.

Yeah ... help her. It's hard to believe there are people out there without the basic manual skills most of us take for granted. I was young once, too, a long time ago. If it weren't for the understanding help of others I'd be lost. I graduated from screw drivers to chainsaws inside of a year, from changing a flat tire to doing my own tune-ups and the independence it has given me is priceless. You could be doing a really good thing for a lot of people in the long run.

And thx for the chuckle!

Yo sure !
Just make all the tools are workin' all right when you begin, else you could end up hammering and screwing a lot more than you thought

Cheers

Yes, I think it would be a good thing for you to show her. Doing the screwing you're talking about would show her just what nice friends she has.

Stu, you are such a role model, of course you should teach her how to screw....the bookshelf together.

As long as you tell her using her mouth is NOT a good tool (for holding screws) you should be fine!

Shaking my booty!
