Many who draw and like art and who get hooked on anime or manga want to draw japanese style anime characters but

they forget about being creative and and making their own style drawings.

I started a project last week, i'm making stories in a comic book fashion cause i have a program where you can incorporate images and add Dialogue bubbles( Comic life). ANyways, i won't and i refuse to make any of my drawings like Japanese manga style. I just make them my style. They dont' look anything like japanese .

But why is it other people fall into the trap of wanting to copy japanese style anime or manga characters.

Its not easy. Yes some people copy. Some people take that Japanese comic style and incorprate it into there own style. I don't understand why so many people are against manga. Its not easy being into manga and anime and having so many peole looking down on us and judgeing us based on what we like. Alot of people like too draw in that style and I admire them because they have too deal with so much and be looked down upon so much. And in Manga there isn't just ONE style too draw it in. YOu pick up one manga book and the art is compltely differnt from another one. Some styles can look simalr but you can't truely copy the Japanses comic style because its so diverse.

Okay, first of all, you're wrong in saying that it's bad to 'copy' japanese anime style. Truth is, it's not copying at all. I agree with the answer(s) that say that you can never truly copy a particular anime art form (or any particular character for that matter). Also, compared to other normal cartoons, most anime characters are pretty cute (And I don't mean the stuffed animals or the mascots.)

american cartoon style... is kind of bland. atleast anime style has proportionate bodyparts (excluding eyes, but atleast some anime doesn't make the eyes TOO huge) and anime is more pleasing to the eye, as for lets take an example of... alot of disney cartoons? you don't need to make them look totaly japanese, but you can sort of take them as an example. my daughter has taken the japanese anime style and made it look more american, but in the same way it looks better than the cheesy cartoon **** on the media.
