Yes, it is a mid-major, and won't be a major conference any time soon, as it doesn't have the caliber of competition top-to-bottom that you see in the Big East, ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big Twelve, or Pac Ten.

Yes no where near the calibur, prestige, history of the Big Ten, ACC, Big 12 and others. You don't have those elite teams in there.
