You can hook up via ethernet, as suggested above, but since you are asking, I would guess this to be a remote desktop that is not terribly close to the router.
The simplest wireless solution would be to use a USB wireless adapter, also previously suggested. However, in my experience, these types of adapters are not extraordinarily reliable. I always recommend using an internal PCI card over USB. The results are nearly 100% better than using the USB. If you don't feel comfortable installing an internal card, you can take the PC into most local computer retailers and have them do it for a small fee.

I do this actually. The wire is only about 6 feet from desktop to the wired/wireless router. This allows my desktop to connect to my laptop without any wires. This is convienant because often I keep my Unix server in my basement and my laptop I use I keep upstairs and use it mostly when watching
TV or when I am around the house.
I can connect to my unix server downstairs anytime then on my laptop through my wireless networking card on my laptop. This is very useful because then I can actually login into my Unix computer and issue commands without physically being there.

Sure. Use an ethernet cable to hook up between your ethernet port on your computer and one of the LAN ports on the wireless router.
It defeats the purpose of going wireless for this application, but you asked if there is a way. So, yes there is.
