Hello there.
I read the answers that you have gotten and I just felt like I needed to respond to your question.
It is almost impossible for a pregnancy test to show a positive unless the woman IS pregnant. However, it is quite common for a test to show a false negative. For that reason I would assume that the test that the medical center took is wrong. Unless, ( and this is important) they did a blood test. The blood test will always be right. If they did a urine test is the same test that you did at home and is no more accurate than the one that you used. So basically you have 2 positive tests and one negative test. Odds are that your wife is pregnant.
Since you have had conflicting results and there is obviously some confusion in yours and your wife's mind, I would suggest that you get a doctor to order a blood test. That will give you a definite, accurate result. If the blood test shows that you are pregnant then you definitely are pregnant. I do not think that there is any way that the test could show that you are not pregnant. If your wife had a miscarriage she would certainly know it. It is not something that a woman does not notice. There is bleeding and there is pain, very early in the pregnancy it would feel like a particularly difficult period. The bleeding would be heavy and the pain would be worse than usual. If this had happened you and your wife would certainly know it.
I am pretty sure that your wife is pregnant. Doesn't she have a doctor that takes care of her who would be willing to order a blood test? If not go back to the medical center and request (strongly request!) a blood test! Having had two positive pregnancy tests is very strong evidence! Plus you say that she still shows signs of being pregnant.
Get a blood test and then you will know for sure.
In any case I hope that you get the results that you want!
Let us know what you find out! I am sure all that have answered your question would love to know!
Love and Blessings

the lady that responded that is a labor and delivery nurse should know that just because you got a negitive at a medical center doesn't mean she isn't pregnant. for example: i took 6 different hpts in a two and a half month time frame and all of them were positive but went and did the medical grade tests and showed negitive. i am 5 months pregnant and it took almost 3 months for enough hcg to show up in my system. i suggest you request a blood test. by the way.... i AM a doctor so i think i know a little bit more than a labor and delivery nurse! if you have anymore questions feel free to e-mail me at moore_256@yahoo.com

Definatly get a second opinion or go to a specialist (OBGYN). If the pregnancy test showed positive that mens that there is a chemical in your wifes urine that only shows in pregnant women. There could be something wrong with the prenancy or with the doctor that you saw. Make an appointment with a specialist, dont go to a walk in clinic. Also, go out and buy the most expensive pregnancy test there is, sometimes the cheap ones will give you mixed results.

Sometimes when you buy test at your local drug store, they can have a positive reading (these tests are not 100% accurate). Since your wife went a medical center and received a test, that determination was most likely correct. I am assuming that she was late on her period, but still had it. Since she had her period she is not pregnant. The signs she may be showing are just hormonal.

If the medical center you went to did urine test.. they been know to be wrong sometimes.. also some test take longer time from conception to read positive.. I would take her to a gynecologist and have blood test run just to make sure.. She may have something else going on that cause the false signals... If she due for her yearly pap smear good time to take care both...

Pregnancy tests are not always accurate. Have her take a few more (first thing in the morning is best) and if they come up positive again take her to your physician or to her OBGYN to take another pregnancy test. In the mean time, it would be best if she behaved as if she was pregnant (no drinking, smoking, etc) just in case. Good luck.

If she got two positives, than she's pregnant. She should probly make an appointment with her doctor(obgyn) for a blood pregnancy test, it should show up on that or they can do a ultrasound also.

No test is 100% accurate. Go for another test. Try a different medical centre.
