My IP address for my wireless router is 192.168.2.1 and the username for the router is admin and the password is 1234. I just want to be able to connect to the internet through the wireless router to my laptop. Please could you tell me every step by step from the website to the part where I am connecting to the network though my laptop. My laptop is a Dell Insperon 9300 and the wireless router is a Compusa Wireless Broadband Router, and I have a DSL internet connection. Thank You so very much I will for sure award a best anwer. You should have a set-up CD with your wireless router. If you have that, load it into your laptop and the setup wizard should load everthing for you. If you don't have the CD, then you might be SOL. :)

Or you can do what that guy said...:)

It really isnt too hard to do.
Connect your new router to your existing DSL modem. This should be an eithernet cable to the WAN or Internet port on your router.
Connect your computer (use a cable for configuration purposes) to one of the LAN (local area) ports on the router.
Open a web browser. Dont be too surprised if the internet actually works at this point, but dont be too surprised if you get a blank page.

In the address bar of your web browser type in 192.168.2.1
It will ask you to log in. User the admin and password.

You should find everything you need within the menus on the router which will open.

Just set up the necessary items. Usually there will be help screens to assist you. Then connect your laptop to the new wireless router which will show up once you have configured the router.

PS -change the default password 1234 to something you will remember! Enable Wireless security once you have your wireless setup and running.
