What is your favorite flower and why?

Mine personally- marigolds, memories from when i was a kid. In kindergarten we each got to plant a marigold, and I guess that's stuck w/ me ever since. They are such pretty flowers, and very underrated if you ask me. Everyone always wants the flashy flowers without appreciating the simple beauty ones.

I love Cosmos-especially the Bright Lights variety. They are so cheerful, strangers ask if they are real. Package says "thrives on neglect" lol! Best of all-when you put them in a vase they arrange themselves! The perfect flower.

By far sunflowers are my best sellers. There are so many varieties out there and the make an outstanding cut flower or garden flower. Buy quality seeds the first year then save the seeds at the end of the year for next years flowers. As a cut flower, they last 1-2 weeks in a vase. And they are so easy to grow!

I love all flowers but I think my most favorite is a zinnia! I inherited my love for flowers from my Grandmother and she used to grow zinnias in her yard and they always bring back sweet memories of childhood when I see them. They are also very easy to grow, whether you start from seed or buy them already up and growing. They thrive in full sun and if you cut back the blooms will bush into a beautiful full burst of color! Great cut flowers too that last. You also have many varieties to choose from these days in some awesome colors. Plus you can always deadhead and dry out and save your seed for next year's planting.

I love Hydrangias. They are one of the few flowers that is my favorite color - light blue! Hydrangias also come in pink and white and combinations of pink, white and blue. I can't wait to plant some in my yard. I also love nasturshums (don't know how to spell that, though!) because they are so simple to grow, and protect garden vegetables by warding off pests too!! Yellow, red, and orange colors make it so festive! I have to agree with you on marigolds too - so simple and perfect - also good for warding off pests in the garden!

my favorite is lily of the valley. they are very delicate looking cream color bells hanging from a slender, arching stem. the smell of them is so beautiful. it is hard to believe such an amazing scent can come from such a little flower. but its said that good things come in small packages
