My catalytic converter on my dodge dakota is clogged. I called my mechanic and he cant work on it until monday, but I have some driving i need to do today and tomorrow and don't have another car. Will my car be ok to drive for a little while if I remove the first o2 sensor so air can escape there?

by removing the sensor you will get a lot more gas usage.. and probaly died of smoke (carbon monoxide) poisoning as the exhaust gas might get into you aircond passage..dont worry,. just dont remove anything drive as usuall and wait till your mech got the time (monday).. your car will be just fine.. its not a major problem.. (nex time use unleaded gas)

NO NO NO,If you remove the oxygen sensor from the catalytic converter the exhaust fumes will get out through the hole where the sensor was and possibly get into the interior of the truck causing carbon monoxide poisoning which will cause you to get drowsy and possibly pass out while driving and you will be involved in a accident and possibly kill or injure a innocent person and involve yourself in a massive lawsuit along with vehicular homicide charges. Also the noise from the engine will get out that same hole possibly getting you pulled over and depending on the cop that pulls you over your truck may get towed and impounded. Not to mention that you might screw up the trucks computer. If you need to go places until you have your truck fixed get rides from friends or family members or take a taxi.

No. A clogged converter means you have back pressure and as a result, no power when you drive, right?

Taking out the O² sensor will do nothing but make it run rich and turn on a check engine light. Sorry, if you have to drive today, get a rental or borrow a vehicle.

No and it is illegal to tamper with the catalytic converter. You wont get much exhaust coming out since the hole is not as big as the tail pipe. So dont do it.

no removing an 0-2 sensor doesn't fix anything on it,it will just make a computer code come up on it ,but its not going to repair it at all,it will create a problem on it though, good luck i hope this helps.

probably not, because then your car will not know the level of o2 in your engine, freak out, and do something bad. Bad air to gas ratio=not good
