I am in the investment management business. I know being a consultant is a respectful job but I have always wanted the word "senior" in my job titile.
Both have very good job responsibilities, so I am only looking at titles

I have been a consultant for must of my working life and consulted with various (and very different) corporations and organizations. As a result, I kept my title as broad as possible so as not to rule out any new busine$$. However, in your case, if 'compliance' is a big part of what an investment manager does, I would suggest you include 'compliance' in your title. Perhaps "Senior Compliance Consultant"?
