hell i stopped watching it in 2002 when that jackass commissioner wipmed out that last 11th hour strike negoation. It was a total joke and the roid scandal came from that "agreement"
Four teams should of been eliminated with Montreal/Washington at the top of the list. NO Salary cap (and there will never be one) the luxry tax is total bullshit. The "testig policy" is a joke. Fat head Barry tested positive for ampteamines and will NOT get suspended for 25 games LIKE HE IS SUUPOSED TO. Then that jackass tops that bullshit with suing fantasy leagues telling them to stop or else. The FANS is what made that game you jackass now all you are doig is killing it. I say FIRE SELIG NOW! HE HAS LOST ALL TOUCH OF REALITY.
And no Mcgoof, Ego Head and yes even beloved Sammy do NOT deserve to be enshrined.

I love the game too much to boycott. Of course there are bad elements playing the game. The big money or the chance to make the big money seem to drive many athletes to cheat, to try and gain an unfair advantage over their peers. There is absolutely no integrity left in the commissioners office. Bud Selig continues to turn his back on the issue with very minor gestures to improve the situation. We all know that the team owners are pulling his strings. The home run chase by Bonds is big money and baseball doesn't want to lose the revenue it creates.
McGuire, Bonds, Sosa and others have embarrassed the game and have insulted the fans with their steroid use. The hall of fame, mainly the baseball writers association should never allow these liars and cheater to tarnish the halls of Cooperstown.
Some writers are saying that not voting McGwire into the hall for the next few years is punishment for this cheating. But within those next few years McGwire will be elected. My question is this. How can he be guilty of cheating now but not be guilty of cheating in a couple of years? What sense does that make?
These guys have had the world handed to them on a silver platter. Great physical skills and being paid millions of dollars to play a children's game. How great can life be? Instead the absolute power that they began to believe became corrupt. Remember the truth of the statement that "Absolute power corrupts absolutely".

A boycott of games will never happen. Fans love to root for their team. They wnat to be there as their club chases for division. playoffs or World Series. Fans have shown their outrage at the players after the fact. They didn't want to know the truth when these players were chasing records. That no one had come close to in decades. Then broken few times in a few years.
Nothing will change my mind on their usage. They should never be used unless it is for a medical condition. So say it is an individuals choice. I disagree this is an terrible thing to teach to young players. Steriod use is bad for the body. Having childrens idols using steriods is just going to make matters worse.
I do not know what should happen to this group of possible Hall of Famers. Did they brake any of the rules of the game at the time. No . They did brake the integrity and character of the game though. The other part that is hard is like you say they are suspected offenders. So you can ban one suspected player and say let in a pitcher that no suspected. I think in the end most if not all will get in. Then we the fans will fight over which records we believe are the true records.

Who is going to boycott the games? Fans? Not a chance. Sadly, most fans could care less that the past 20 years are now tainted, and right or wrong all those recent "career years" by guys like McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, Brady Anderson and Roger Clemens are now viewed as chemically enhanced.
Of course, they got their million-dollar arbitration years, fans got more home runs and more chances to watch Clemens pitch, MLB got a bigger TV deal and bigger stadiums. So who is going to boycott? Baseball purists are the only ones complaining and the game is way to cool to give up, so we'll just have to live with it.
Now, will McGwire and Sosa ever get in to the Hall? That's another question. If I had a vote, I'd never let them in.

I won't boycott it but I do hate to see that happening to sports! I know people will always "do what they have to do to get the edge on the opponent" but I would hope that people would be smart enough to just work hard and get stronger the natural way rather than putting their body in danger. As far as the Hall, if they are putting an * next to 61 (which I don't agree with) something should be done to note the accusations/use.
I hate that my little brothers are becoming very involved with sports right now and this is what they see as how to get ahead and win. Something needs to be done for the future of the sport.

Steroids in Sports is all about the individual...When I was a kid 6or7 years old playing baseball, my coaches would teach me one very important thing...when you hit the ball...you run hard to get on base!
I have gone to many of Major League Baseball games to watch a player hit the ball to the shortstop lets say and watch the runner JOG to first conceding the out! Really against what we were taught all through school and college.
Now if the athlete wants to do the "Roid" thing to get his $$$ and to jack a home run outta the park...by all means let him.
If it's o.k. for a aging actress to have a face lift,or other cosmetic surgery to further her career...why cant a MBL player? After all, it's entertainment...I once read the Warning on the pack of a Friends cigarettes...it told me what might happen....the user of "Roids" knows what the future "may" hold for them.

If they want to use steroids, knowing what it will do to them, that's on them. The MLB didn't ban it until 2004, so someone in the commissioner's office didn't see it as a problem. If it's proven any of the people on your list used steroids after 2004, ban them, but until that point, there is nothing anyone can do about it.

I have no problem with steroid usage in sports. I think the government should stay out of it as long as people are not forced to use them.
