I want to set up a blog...but I am not sure what to write about. I am good writer and would like to right about interesting stuff..that concerns everyone. What sort of things is this? Tell me things that you would look at a blog for. What makes a blog appealing to you?

At its simplest, a blog can be viewed as your diary- you write about whatever you want, whenever you want.
However, if you want to share your thoughts and opinions with others, why not challenge yourself and take it a step further?
You say you are a good writer, yet you don't mention what you like to write. Fiction? Poetry? Use your blog to share your talents.
Do you find yourself thinking about political issues? Religious ideals? Use your blog to encourage debate and thinking amongst your readers. Do you have radical ideas? New ways of viewing mainstream philosophies?
Perhaps you have a keen sense of humor? Use that to your advantage and develop an "internet personality" and review movies, music, etc. in the style of your "personality". That is, assume a character and write in that character's style!
The point I'm making is that virtually EVERYONE on this planet maintains a blog of some sort, and NOBODY cares to read things about what you did or the fact that you ate ice cream this afternoon unless you can find a way to make it relevant to them- make it funny, make it thought-provoking:
"I ate some ice cream today and noticed that the swirls in the caramel reminded me of the universe, and got me thinking that the universe and God are like ice cream... etc."
Finally, make certain to ADVERTISE your blog, and let people know when you update it. Send emails to your friends, go on public websites such as MySpace and post bulletins about your blog.
After all, what's the point in making your thoughts public if no one is reading them?

Don't write it for the audience, write a blog that you would enjoy yourself, that works for a book and music too.

Write about your interests, what you think of current issues that are happening at the moments, and as long as you be yourself, all should be interesting (:
