i saw an interview with T.I. and they asked him that question. He pointed at his cars and his house and his diamonds and shitt and said that that is proof that hip hop is not dead. to me, that seemed like proof that hip hop is dead. However, i think that if rappers like Lupe Fiasco, Common, The Roots and Damian Marley can get to the forefront and reach more of the public, then maybe they can perform CPR on this genre that, for now at least, is not breathing

hip hop as been dying for a long time now, just listen to Chris Rock's never sacred like he says it is hard to defend some of the rap that is out there now. Rappers have to get back into actual meaningful lyrics now just talking about hoes and bitches

I hope hip-hop dies a slow, excrutiatingly painful death, but I don't think that'll happen soon when I tune to MTV... So you're in luck and I am disillusioned. I'm gonna go chew of my wrists now since the fact that hip-hop is alive and well has crashed my pessimistic spirits to new depths.

I think that it is, but then again it's not. I listen to some hip-hop. I listen to Ludacris, Snoop Dogg ect. Soon it will fade, then in a few years, it will come back [hopefully]
