I have worked in retail for years. I am not sure what kind they use at those stores, but if you get a strong magnet, you can try the ones on your fridge but they might be too weak, and hold the magnet to one end of the plastic thing it should come off. That is if that is the type of security device it is. if not, you will just have to take it to the store. bring your mom with you . Hope that helps. :) Happy Saint Patty's Day!

Have a responsible adult take you back to the store and explain the situation to the clerk. Do not try to remove the tag yourself. Some of these theft control devices contain ink vials. Attempts to remove the tag without the proper device could rupture the ink vials and ruin the garment.

As for being thrown into juvi, they would need evidence that you stole the item, which of course there is none.

I had that happen with a pair of jeans I bought for my husband years ago, we just took it back with the reciept and asked them to remove it.

You mentioned you have no reciept because you threw it out, but that you used your mothers account....have your mother call and get a copy of the reciept sent to the house. Most credit card companies hold a copy of the purchase reciept and can supply you with a copy of it, then you will be able to go back to the store and have that tag removed.

You could go to the person at the store that might remember you and tell them the problem. Try and go in there without the shirt first and see if you can scout out the person who sold it to you. That way if you don't see them you won't get caught with the shirt. Otherwise use liquid nitrogen, get someone you know who works at a department store to remove it, or try and use a strong magnet.

Take the shirt back with your receipt as the other answer stated. They will take it off in the store no problem. I have not had this happen with Abercrombie before but with American Eagle and they took care of it quick and easy I just wish we had lived closer than 25 mins drive to get it taken care of :) Good luck

um, if you used her account like a credit card, have her take the card and the shirt back in. It shouldn't be a big deal about the receipt. They can look up the transaction on the computer. If you didn't steal it, then chill. But have your mom go in there for you. Make sure she takes the card you used.

Take it back. Someone in the store will remember you. Do not take it off yourself because there is a possibility that it is full of ink and will permanently stain your shirt. Simply take it back. They will be happy to remove it for you. They also have security cameras that can show you in line paying for your purchase. Take it back.

I'll tell you what not to do. DO NOT TAKE A HAMMER AND SMASH IT TO SMITHERINES SINCE THE HAMMER WILL RIP A HOLE IN THE SHIRT. I did get it off, though. I returned it, anyway, since it was destroyed and I didn't think it was really my fault. They took it with no questions asked. A funny face was made, though. Since you are only fifteen I would have your Mom come with you.

Hope this helps.

If it was purchased with a credit or debit card, they won't need the receipt, just the card.

Or, just call in advance - there's always someone folding clothes and greeting people at those stores right up front. They will be expecting you.

If it was bought on an account they can verify the purchase even with out the receipt. Take it back and explain what happened.
