I have noticed on some sites there is a picture in the URL address bar next to the address. For example Yahoo answers has a green speech bubble with a white star in the centre. Does anybody know what this is called and how to put one there.

This is a small 16x16 bitmap file called favicon.ico

Create your bitmap, windows paint will do, save as a bitmap 16x16 pixels and call it favicon.ico

store this in the root directory of your website.

David

Have a search for something called: favicon

It's a small icon this when properly created and identified by the site, appears in the address bar and in the history for the web site.

Add this tag to your head section and place the .ico file (which you can create with an icon creator download.com) in that location...
