That is because so many people think that everyone, even those who have not decided to accept USA as their country, should benefit from what this country stands for.
Illegal immigrants want it both ways. They want all the benefits without having to claim any loyalty to this country. Even the so-called americans that claim that these individuals should have all the rights we do without the cost of being a citizen are spitting on the very constitution by allowing rights be given without any loyalty sworn.
It is a very sad day when citizens from our own country decide that it doesn't require a constitution to have all the rights we possess.

Everyone, except The native Americans, came here on a boat. Thus the Natives should be asking that question. Do you honestly think that all the people that came here during the early 1900's was legal.....PLEASE. The blood, sweat, and tears of Immigrants, from all over the world, have made this counrty the way it is today.

You are noticing something important.
Citizens are walking on thin ice when talking about immigration, this signifies something important.
What it signifies is that Oppression still exists today. It signifies that this country was founded on immigratin (yes, even illegal immigration) and now many are being hypocrites and turning the tables "it was okay for my grandparents and ancestors but it's not okay for you". The anti-immigration debate is fueled by Greed. It is fueled by Ignorance. And It is fueled by Oppression.
If the topic on illegal immigration was so cut and dry, if it was right then you wouldn't have to walk on egg shells.
The more people become educated about this issue the less we will have to walk on egg shells.
