I like Xylitol very much too. I have also tried "Just Like Sugar" that is a natural sweetener made from Chicory root, Maltodextran and Orange Peel. It has a 0 on the Glycemic Index. IMO it did not have the same sweeting power as regular sugar. I had to use twice as much Just Like Sugar to get the same sweetness as sugar. It is a good product regardless.

I've been using stevia for a year now. Before that, I used artificial sweeteners until I realized how bad they are for you, including Splenda.
I've heard that xylitol is really good. I haven't tried it, but if I get sick of stevia, that is what I would buy.
I also use organic sugar if a recipe calls for sugar.

Stevia, even though the FDA says that it can only be sold as a dietary supplement...thank sugar growing lobbies for that one. Stevia is sweet, and it is proven safe by 100s of years of common use throughout the Western Hemisphere...especially when compared to artificial sweeteners.
"Artificial sweeteners" all have toxic effects on your body.
Read books, like "Excitotoxins: The taste that kills" for the biochemical proof of that.

I use a plant called Stevia, it's roughly 30 times sweeter than sugar and cannot cause problems like diabetes. Can be used in everything.
Enjoy!

Everything I seem to buy has Splenda in it. I can't say I notice a bad taste. I'm neutral about it. What foods come with xylitol? Or how is it packaged?
