The problem is I got a DUI last year in July. I am not on probation or anything. Who do I need to contact. Is there any way to esponge the felony from my record. It was non violent and has really hurt my employment as well as other aspects of my life.

If you're a human, and you are, the laws are broken each, and everyday, even by Judges. Even by Attorneys, Presidents, homeland security, and the Vice President. So don't let these "HYPOCRITICAL DO GOODERS GET TO YOU." I bet they drove drunk many times, they just didn't get caught. Now to answer your question, I've heard conflicting stories about records. My x husband use to rob banks he's 20 years older than me, and he's 70 something. he was born in 1929 so he's old. But they expunged his record about 20 years ago. He hired a lawyer and the lawyer showed that he had not been in trouble for so many years. My X's was a violent crime. Yours was not. I think it's seven years. your young, try to love yourself enough to keep out of the long arm of the big money making machine called UNITED STATES JUSTICE SYSTEM. They have stores where you can buy a crack pipe, and get arrested after you walk out of the store. They have legal bars, where you come out and get arrested. The United States is a big set up, if your rich you will get away with it if your poor you will not. But don't get me wrong. I love this Counrty. There's no place like it.

I can only speak for CA, but here goes:

In regards to your criminal record, as long as you have been discharged from probation, or it has been one year after a conviction w/o probation, and you are not currently charged for any other crime, you may petition for your case to be expunged. To do this, fill out, or have an attorney fill out form CR-180 and present this to the clerk of the courthouse where you were convicted. You may have to pay a fee ($60 in Los Angeles County). You will be given a court date. This is not a mandatory appearance, but it may be in your best interest to be present in court on that day.

In regards to your DMV, you must wait 7 years, at which point the DUI will drop off of your driving record.

Yeah unfortunately that stuff does not go away. The only way you can do it is via a Governor or presidental pardon! You will likely not get the felony off your record though because you have a recent offense. The only people that get pardons are people who are doing something really spectacular and did something stupid a long time ago and never did anything since. So you will have to wait, and unfortunately have the felony and have to explain it.

The problem is you just contradicted yourself. You said that it was five years ago first, and then you said it was last July? Which is the case? Were you of legal age to drink when you received it? Was it really your first offense, or have you had a few? Did you do any jail time? What was the class of the felony?

the guy who spoke back till now me is genuine. except you have been a juvenile once you dedicated the crime, then the arrest will stay on your checklist. In Georgia, you will get a pardon in case you have remained crime loose for 5 years. which skill NO new convictions, legal or misdemeanor. All a pardon is going to do is supply you rights you won't have had previous to the pardon, which rather are no longer that many, except you're employing for a gun enable or in case you reside in a state that may not assist you to vote. Felonies stay on your checklist, yet may be expunged in case you have been wrongly convicted or if somebody else used your call.

you may after time be able to get it expunged from your record will need to talk to a lawyer in your state, since state laws differ
But a little dirty secret is for employment back ground checks it will never go away even if you have it expunged, the large companies that keep public records for employer back ground checks have no legally duty to remove the information if it is expunged

As far as I know there is no way to get that felony from your record for 10 years (I think). You could maybe hire an attorney and maybe that would work.

With a felony AND a DUI, you have shown a habit of screwing up. Next time consider the consequences of your actions. You could have injured or killed people driving drunk.

If you are referring to your driving record - after a period of ten years without another incident it will automatically be removed. If however it is a police record - to my understanding it will never go away.
