What does it mean when my wife, according to ovulation tests has been ovulating for 2 weeks. Is this something I should be concerned about. Thanks.

I could be wrong but I think that means she may be pregnant?!

Perhaps its worth researching this further or waiting for other answers?

If its been two weeks since first day of ovulation it's probably around the time period is due? If it is late your wife should test for pregnancy.

Good luck.

I can think of three possibilities.

First, that she's not reading them correctly or that it's a bad batch of tests. A positive OPK doesn't only happen when there are two lines. The two lines need to be the same color, or the test line needs to be darker than the control line. You may have two lines for days and days, but until the lines are the same or the test line is darker, ovulation isn't happening. The tests also need to be read in the appropriate time frame. If they're read outside the frame that the instructions say, it's not a valid result.

Second, ovulation kits, while they're not intended or recommended to be used as such, can sometimes mistake hcg, the pregnancy hormone for LH, the hormone OPKs measure. It's possible that she's pregnant.

Third, there are some hormonal problems that can cause OPKs to give wrong results. She may want to call her doctor and see what the doctor says, if she takes a pregnancy test and it's negative.

By definition, ovulation is the process of an ovary releasing an egg from the follicle - permitting the egg to float down the fallopian tubes. Directly prior to ovulation, a dramatic hormonal change takes place - the LH Surge. LH (or Luteinizing Hormone) is the hormone that actually facilitates ovulation: it causes the egg to separate from the ovarian surface. Ovulation predictor tests function by detecting this LH Surge, thus alerting the woman that ovulation is imminent.
the LH surge usally starts going up around day 10 and dropping again around day 15 so a LH surgr that stays up could maybe mean pregnancy hope this info helps !!!

The luteal phase, or post-ovulation (from ovulation to menstruation), is generally the same length for most women - averaging about 14 days. As a rule, the egg is released 10 to 16 days before menstruation, or the start of the next menstrual cycle. If you have heard the term DPO on preconception chats, this refers to "days past ovulation". High sensitivity pregnancy tests can allow you to begin testing for pregnancy at around 7-10 days past ovulation.

good luck

Have her take a test because I think that means she could be pregnant.
Good Luck
