yes hear are other reasons why not to use vista.
Here's some things I'll bet you missed IF you even looked...
1) Third party drivers/applications are not allowed unless “approved” by Microsoft. Some of your favorite software won't run on Vista because the drivers have not been "approved" by Microsoft. This also means that the digital camera you just bought may not be "allowed" to connect to the PC.
2) Most security software will run but is limited because of “PatchGuard” and denied access to the kernel.
3) DRM is integrated – IF you even get to the point of copying something, ALL media copied thru Vista is SERIOUSLY degraded. The mp3s that you rip, are not allowed to be full quality. Same with DVD's.
4) You give Microsoft the right, through programs like Windows Defender, to delete programs from your system that it decides are spyware.
5) Takes up too much of the already strained resources.
6) You consent to being spied upon by Microsoft, through the “Windows Genuine Advantage” system. This system tries to identify instances of copying that Microsoft thinks are illegitimate. Unfortunately, a recent study indicated that this system has already screwed up in over 500,000 cases.
7) More licensing restrictions – Depends on which of the 6 different versions you get.
8) A lot of your software will need to be reactivated – Hopefully you still have those license keys.
9) Firefox is NOT allowed as default browser…No matter what!
10) Backup software crashes because of too many nested folders. Even tho it worked with XP.
Personally, if XP ever goes out of support, I'm going Linux

Apparently apocalipce (sic) has never USED Vista, and is running on false assumptions of what he's heard:
"Third party drivers/applications are not allowed unless approved by Microsoft. Some of your favorite software won't run on Vista because the drivers have not been approved by Microsoft. This also means that the digital camera you just bought may not be "allowed" to connect to the PC."
FALSE. You may not be able to run modified drivers for video cards, or other hardware, however, that only matters if you're viewing High Definition protected content to protect from illegal copying. Drivers from the manufacturer will always work properly.
"Most security software will run but is limited because of “PatchGuard” and denied access to the kernel."
FALSE. Norton and McAfee, and several others already have Vista versions of their security suites in perfect working order.
"DRM is integrated – IF you even get to the point of copying something, ALL media copied thru Vista is SERIOUSLY degraded. The mp3s that you rip, are not allowed to be full quality. Same with DVD's."
Again, totally false. You can rip CDs at any quality that you want. It doesn't DRM unprotected content, such as MP3s that you download, rip from CD, or otherwise obtain elsewhere from the Microsoft music store.
"You give Microsoft the right, through programs like Windows Defender, to delete programs from your system that it decides are spyware."
If a program is exhibiting signs of being a spyware program, then yes, Windows Defender may quarantine or remove the offending files by default. However, this can be easily changed by going to the Windows Defender options and disabling that action.
"You consent to being spied upon by Microsoft, through the “Windows Genuine Advantage” system. This system tries to identify instances of copying that Microsoft thinks are illegitimate. Unfortunately, a recent study indicated that this system has already screwed up in over 500,000 cases."
WGA is used to verify whether or not you are using a legitimate version of Windows. If you are, then what are you worried about? If you're using a cracked version, don't be surprised if you get locked out of your OS sooner or later. Even in the case of a false positive, you can simply call Microsoft to reactivate it.
"More licensing restrictions – Depends on which of the 6 different versions you get."
Same as before, it's restricted to one computer per license. I see nothing unusual about this.
"A lot of your software will need to be reactivated – Hopefully you still have those license keys."
As with any OS you install, software will have to be reinstalled. Naturally, if those software programs require activation, you'll need the keys. This isn't a Vista problem.
"Firefox is NOT allowed as default browser…No matter what!"
Obviously you've never tried, as evidenced by this picture of my default FireFox browser:

With that out of the way, yes, it does use a lot of system memory. I'm running 1 GB, and thinking I need to upgrade, as I'm usually at least at 50-60% usage. I wouldn't run it with anything less than 1 GB.

Vista is even worse than ME (Memory Eater) when it somes to using system resources.
Why do you think MS states a minimum of 1 gig RAM to run it at basic levels.

it does consume more memory thzt XP. Vista recamends you have at least 1 GB (gigabite) of ram before installing it. If you have less it may run slower.

Yes. It's a memory muncher! :)
Just as XP was larger than 2K, and 2K was larger than ME/98/95, Vista is even more demanding and requires a lot of memory. I wouldn't even think of running it with less than 512, but even that may be stretching it.

slightly overdue yet not in any respect improve to Vista wait until eventually you purchase a clean gadget and that's pre-put in. basically google the mistakes code and that's going to take you to an internet site the position that's going to allow you to know waht the code ability and hoe to fix it (if plausible)
