The Quraan calls them "People of the Book ",i.e., those who received Divine scriptures before the advent of Muhammad (Peace and blessings of God be upon him) Muslims are told to treat them with respect and justice and not fight with them unless they initiate hostilities or ridicule their faith. Muslim's ultimate hope is that they all will join them in worshipping One God and submit to His will. "Say (O Muhammad ) (Peace and blessings of God be upon him) O people of the Book (Jews and Christians) come to an agreement between us and you that we shall worship none but Allaah, and that we shall take no partners unto Him, and none of us shall take others for Lords beside Allaah, and if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are those who have surrendered (unto Him)." If for no different reason than to remind the international that that's the followers who're risky, and good human beings do no longer tolerate or trust such injustice.

See, therin lies the rub.

The Koran tells Muslims to treat others with respect and dignity.

Many, many people instead focus on the 'unless' part and then run wild with that. Just as many radicalized Christians once focused on the parts of the Bible that led to violence and torture, radicalized Islamics are doing that today.

Islam is in it's Dark Ages - and worse. The Inquisition didn't have access to nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, nor airplanes. Much less Western Media to spread their hate.

Ya, as the Quraan says with respect. I have many friends that are muslims and jews and i'm christian. We get along. Of course they ask me about my faith and I ask them about theirs, but there's always an understanding. I respect them and they respect me.

God is one. Mankind is one and all the religions are one.
There are not different religions in the world, there is just one religion, the religion of God, revealed progressively to mankind.
Divine revelation and guidance is a never ending process.

Treat us you would expect to be treated. Treat us as individuals with individual beliefs, likes and dislikes.

Because we won't conform to your way of thinking doesn't give you the right to be little us, as many of you do.
