There's memory and there's disk space....

Memory is a fixed size and the available amount shrinks and grows as the computer is running. It does not change as programs/files are deleted. This is the temporary storage thats used while the computer is running.

Disk space on the other hand is used to store your programs and files, and retains that information when the machine is off. If you delete a file, you should be able to reclaim that space. However, yes using the internet does also keep track of where you've been so it takes up space os you surf. If you clear your internet history, you should get some of that back.

Installing programs and updates will also use up some disk space.

Internet do store cookies and files from the sites you visit, clear them. If you delete other files from your com, remember to clear the Recycle Bin. Btw, Window System Restore might be using a certain amount of disk space, set it lower if you need more space.

If you are talking about memory, alot of back ground programes will be using your mem. Open up Window Task Manager(by pressing Alt + Ctl + Delete) to view the processes running.

Hope it help.

you have to delete the stuff off your hard drive. If you just delete something off your desktop, it is still in your hard drive, it saves everything you do
