became ill and could not preform any work. She couldn't pay the ad, she only paid the first down payment. she never paid any of the payment. In 2006 she was awarded SSi. For a mental disability. They are now suing her, but the papers are not in her last name, they have the first name right, but not the last name. When she goes to court for the non payment can she lose her ssi? My question is will ssi cut her off? She was not on ssi when the ad was placed, nor was she on ssi during the year the ad was active. Please only decent answers. So I hope i made my question cear.

She won't lose her SSI, but she do need to talk to the yellow pages and explain her situation. If you could pay something I think they be willing to work with her. Another thing if she has the address to send in a payment, she should send something showing that she is willing to pay. SSI has nothing to do with unpaid bills.

She won't lose her ssi because of delinquent bill payment. She will just need to open and honestly tell them about the situation that she found herself in. Maybe they will be sympathetic to her and let her pay her bill in installments. Even if the ad never panned out she still will have to pay for the ad she contracted to. Good Luck!

She owes this debt. Why should they have to take her to court to collect it. She will pay, one way or the other. They will take it out of her SSI and her SSI could be in jeopardy.

Not making any money of the ad is neither here nor there. She placed the ad, it cost money to put it in the yellow pages....what makes her feel she is entitled to free advertisement.
