I don't think neocons are mean, just that there are some who are too sensitive.

Because they are closer to libs than conservatives? Do you know what a Neo-con is? It's someone who tries to merge the ideologies of liberalism and conservatism. George Bush cut taxes (conservative value) but then he grew government (liberal value). A bunch of democrats crossed over to the conservative side after the Carter administration showed what liberal policy could do. Unfortunately those that crossed over brought a tolerance for social programs and some of the liberal hate with them also.
Typically the more liberal you purge from someone the nicer they are so if you want to meet some truly nice people. Conservatives are the way to go.

If my not wanting to see my country held hostage to international agreements and unelected UN bureaucrats makes me mean, then we are. I can't stand most neocons, but you need to make this question more detailed. Define 'mean', for instance. Mean in what aspect? Not all of them are mean people. Many of them are willing to listen to different points of view and agree to disagree. I enjoy and am friends with the libertarian type of conservative. I"m not really friendly with the ultra- religious conservatives.
