Donny Osmond's "Puppy Love" reached number 1 on the 8th July 1972. It stayed at number 1 for five weeks. it knocked Slade off the top of the charts with "Take me bak 'ome" but was in turn knocked off the top of the charts by Alice Cooper's "Schools Out"
