I understand your dilemma about work wear. I work in an office and was lost there for about a week on what was work appropriate and what wasn't. A few questions; were the Marc Jacob flats the same shade as the purse and head band? Some times if the tones of colors don't match they look miss match-y. Next, when you were hired were you told of a specific dress code? Maybe the dress length was just a tad to short for the office. If it wasn't either of those maybe it was simple that it was too much bright color against black. Maybe just the purse in turquoise with the black dress would have looked better. Another thing I have noticed is while head bands may be really popular at the moment, a lot of people feel they still look very juvenile. Finally maybe you could go to your boss and ask her for some pointers on how to dress at work. Ask her what kind of things are appropriate; length of skirts/dresses, colors for the office, accessories, etc. I think the outfit sounds great, the dress seems a bit more going for cocktails with the girls then to work, but I might be picturing the dress differently in my mind. Good luck I hope you get this solved, and ignore the haters!

each thing peice with assistance from peice replaced into beautiful except the shoes. i don't be conscious of perchance she replaced into relating the actual shown actuality that you appear like you've been going to a funeral, and the shoes are gruesome even if or not they are Yves saint Laurent or no longer. even as she suggested you dressed badly the first time what were you wearing? something similar? in simple terms so that you be conscious of the call on something does no longer make it hip, sought after, or perhaps beautiful. As a way editor's assistant you need to be conscious of what she expects, placed that forth once you dress in the morning. upload some colour someplace and do not placed on those shoes again. and that i'm fairly into style how did to procure your pastime, i'd fairly opt to entice close.

Did you wear the outfit to school or work? Either way, it sounds bad, but worse to work. Try to avoid bright, flashy colors at work, as you are an assistant right now. If you really like the color, use SMALL amounts, one or two accessories MAX. I agree with the first guy, go get some Abercrombie...

Maybe the outfit was a bit too flashy for your work environment. I don't know, so it's hard to say. You could
ask your boss what she didn't like about your clothing and
if she has any suggestions as to what would be more appropriate. Sometimes bosses want their employees to dress in an 'understated' or sophisticated fashion. Softer, muted colors, basic pieces etc.

So cause you work at a fashion design magazine does that mean you have to dress accordingly? What, is she upset that she didn't become a model and is dumping on everyone else? Who really cares, glad I'm a man and don't have to worry about all this crap. A t-shirt and jeans would be cool to wear to work.

I'd have to see a picture to be certain, but it sounds like it would be fine; unless your office has a specific dress code that prevents the wearing of certain manufacturers as it would create a conflict of interest...but I don't know of anyplace that goes so far as to say "you cannot wear Prada." LOL

Too much Marc at one time? Or too much turquoise?

I'm so glad that I'm not young any more. I can only laugh at when I used to think that stuff was important.

Is this from "The Devil Wears Prada" or something?

If it's what I'm imagining, I think it's really pretty! And I think thats appropriate to wear to work. I don't know why she would say it wasn't.
