taskmanager...when i run a scan with avg it tells me i have a boot sector reading error...can anyone help i have downloaded windows defender and avg both dont find a problem

You haven't provided alot of info like what version of Windows you're using, what AVG version your running, etc...

Anyway:

There is a known problem with one of AVG's updates/versions, it reports that there is a boot problem when there isn't.

And as for your desktop icon that keep on disappearing, that is a known problem with using Active Desktop, it isn't perfect. You can try disabling it.

There are alot of answer out there, but like I said we need alot more infomation. Hope this helps.

you want to clean up your start up document. start up-run-variety msconfig-click the start up tab. uncheck each thing except your anti-virus and firewall. this may help shop the workstation from operating too sluggish. you'll opt to make the icons again for the courses you want and once you get your toolbar again proper click on it and click the lock the toolbar. strong success
