I am going in for a c section and need to know what I should bring for me and baby. How many night gowns do I need and all that stuff? Can I put baby in regular clothes while still in hospital or just diaper and blanket?

Out of all of the magazines and online articles I've read this list here seems like the most common things that people have said.

- 2-3 night gowns (but you're having a C section and will probably stay an extra day or so so maybe 4-5)
- House shoes, slippers, or really comfy socks to walk around.
- Snacks for you while you're there or even for your busband or other guests.
- Your favorite lotion or body wash in case you want to take a shower. You should even pack make-up or hair products for when all your visitors take pictures of you and new baby(if you care about that).
- Definitely big, comfy clothes to go home in, especially if you're having a C section.
- Bring a baby outfit or two for going home and if you plan on buying those hospital pictures.

Feel free to bring anything else you think you need to make yourself more comfortable.

I had 2 c-sections. 1 word of advice, if they offer you stool softeners, take them. If they don't, ask for them. The epidural causes constipation and the incision pain makes it hard to go.
As for what to bring. Make sure you have maternity pants to come home in, your abdomen will be sore. I would just wear the hospital gown while you are there because otherwise you might get blood in your clothes. Just bring a robe to cover your privates in the hallway!! You will need sleepers for the baby and that's about it. Good luck.

just take what you plan to wear home and what you will put on the baby for the trip home. leave valuables at home. you won't need a lot of the other stuff because the hospital will provide most of what you need and you'll be home in a day or two after the birth. then you'll go straight home and can clean up there or go to bed if you want.

I would pack something to wear home, because I would wear the hospital gowns until you left since you may bleed on them. You should pack some slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, shampoo and conditioner you like, deoderant, lotion. Then in your diaper bag: couple of outfits because baby can wear whatever you want them to while they are at hospital, your bottles, wipes, diapers, formula...can't think of anything else!

Babycenter.com has a great list of what things to pack for the hospital:
http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/childbirth/185.html

It starts out with what to pack for labor, but if you scroll down, there are sections on what to pack for you and the baby too. :)

Good luck!

Since your baby will have a healing belly button at the time (from the umbilical cord stump), it's best not to dress him/her in onesies that might rub on that area...stick to little t-shirts and diapers so that the belly button can be exposed to the air and heal.

Wunzies for the baby (you can pur normal clothes not the baby unless the nurse or doctor say you cannot for health propuses or something)

Socks for the baby
coats for you and the baby incase its cold out side
water for you
make-up if you want or if you do not thats okay
shampoo and conditioner the hopital supplies it but if you want to bring your own thats good because the hospital ones are small.
camera to take pictures of you and the baby!
Thats all unless you want to tape it!
