I would find something fun and sassy, that doesn't look to grown up or formal, unless the dance is formal. Make sure it fits your hair color and skin tone too. Girlie always makes me think pink or lace and ruffles so maybe along those lines. Add a great pair of hills, some sparkly jewelry, and a cmall clutch to carry your touch up make-up in!

I am definetely NOT a girly girl but I was. I am currently studying to be a cosmetologist though so belive me when I say to not wear lipstick of any sort, go for lip gloss it's definetely more girly anyways. Go check out Dillards they have the most amazing dresses and way girly and gorgeous too. If you want to look more elegant I would go for an up do and some long dangly earrings no hoops (no offense) but hoops make you look cheap. And wear some cute but comfortable heels so you don't have to sit all day and can actually dance so not too high of a heel. Also for the make up if your skin is really light you might want to go for the lighter shades of make-up not too dark and something that matches your dress you might also want to use just a thin line of black eye liner (whichever kind) over your eye shadow (if using any) and some mascara if you are good with your natural eyelashes and don't want to look over make uped i would just go with a natural clear mascara.
