My mother has a 2004 Kia Spectra. Lately it has been making weird noises that appear to be coming from the passenger side front wheel. The sound is kind of a soft clunking. She believes it could be the strut. Steering is a tiny bit off, it does not want to turn as easy as it once did. What do I do? Could it be the strut or something else.

Your problem sounds like one of two things. Either a bad ball joint or a bad strut plate. Jack the car so the tire in question is off the ground. Grab the tire at the 12 and 6 position and shake it in and out. If there is play, replace the ball joint. If there isn't, disconnect the tie rod and turn the wheel assy. left to right. It should move free and smooth. If not, replace the strut bearing plate.
