if you like skating that much you should seriously buy new skates, or even from ebay you can get them in good condition, or sales at skating clubs. when you're skating remember to keep your knees bendable, and balance on both your edges and the middle of the arc. put your heels together with your toes slightly pointed outwards. then just take tiny steps and you'll naturally glide. begin on the sideboards then slowly let go. there are always instuctional books about skating that you can borrow from the library =D

first of all get new skates because rentals are crappy. they do not provide ankle support.

then just practice as much as possible if lessons are to expensive. however i would still take two or three lessons so you can get SOME help. and then just practice what you learn in those lessons.

but i never took lessons and i skate fine( im not fast but i can skate) it just takes alot of practice.

edit-
I just saw a post that said to use roller blades DON'T DO THAT. i play ice hockey and i am a pretty good skater. but i cannot roller blade. just don't do it if you are learning how to ice skate.

good luck

United Arab Emrites? I studied that in school.
Ok, so can you find rollerblades anywhere...they're like skates with weels. If you can then you should be able to "skate" on them. Strap them on and go down the street. Since you've skated before it should be easier for you to re-learn it. Plus, this is a good way to lose weight.
