It's way worse than Philly. What famous thing has Pittsburgh done other than polluting the air?

what is so bad about cheesesteaks? They are delicious and you're all just mad cause you can't come and get one more often! Philly also has the most loyal fans in the country, I still watch every Flyers game I can even though they suck. I know no one watched Pittsburgh before Crosby came.

I like how some of you hear something in passing and run with it. Most of you have probably not even been to both cities. Dumb statements like "virtually no crime in Pittsburgh" LOL. They are both decent cities but IMO Philly is nicer. Nicer restaurants, full of history, nicer sports facilities (sports is the topic).
I especially get a kick out of how people portray Philadelphians as mean-all because of a few incidents like Santa Claus. They have more knowledgeable fans than Pittsburgh and as a blue collar town, they like blue collar sports people.
They are the nicest people you would ever want to meet...if you are there to root for the home team. If you are not, then yes, you get the nasty treatment. I actually find loyalty and pride in this. I love the fact that if you go to an Eagle/Cowboy game dressed in a Cowboy jersey, you are going to hear it. It is their pride and if you want to come to our house then deal with it... or don't come which leads to more home fans being there which is great. Philly fans are the best and it is one of my favorite cities. I am from Canada and go there 3 or 4 times a year. Been to Pitt a few times too, and it is OK-but no Philly. Chicago is a nice city, Buffalo is not. I like Montreal and dislike Toronto. I love Vegas and don't care for Washington or Baltimore. Jacsonville I don't like. Jersey is actually not as bad as some people make it out to be.
Anyways, Philly is my favorite U.S city. Funny how people equate them with nothing but cheesesteaks (not that they aren't awesome) because there are some nice places to eat there. Liberty Bell. Independance Hall. Art museum etc......all that Pittsburgh has been known for is steel.

You know whats pretty cool? Taking a shot at the blue collar steel workers is.
Philidelphia
Phili is full of a**holes much like yourself
Ed Redell is from Phildelphia
and I guess everything above from other people.
Pittsburgh
5 Superbowl Championships
2 Stanley Cups
5 World Series Championships back to 1909
Some of the best healhcare in the world(UPMC Dr's reasearch lead to cure for Polio)
Take a drive through the Fort Pitt Tunnel inbound
Kennywood
The view of the skyline from PNC Park is amazing as is PNC Park and Heinz Field, and the new arena will be to (I was shocked that Fast Eddie even tried since Pittsburgh isn't in eastern Pa)
Also if Pittsburgh sucks why do athletes that have played here in there carees and have the money to live anywhere in the world stay here? see Mario Lemieux, Phil Borque, Lynn Swann, Jack Ham, Joe Greene among others
BTW you question has nothing to do with hockey specificly so why is it here, and your telling people to back off even after you bashed our city. You can talk Shi* on Pittsburgh but can't take it. You have to be like 6 or 7 at the most.

I lived in both Pittsburgh and Philly for over 8 years each. I go back to Pittsburgh, but not to Philly.
When I was in Philly, it was dirty, and smelly. Pittsburgh's a cleaner city. The people in Pittsburgh are friendly and willing to start a conversation when you're in line at a supermarket. In Philly, you might be taking your life in your hands if you look at somebody the wrong way when you're walking down Market Street.
When it comes right down to it, I'd have to say I like Pittsburgh better because of the people.

City of Champions, what would Philly call itself in comparison- City of runner-ups at best. Superbowls(tied for all time lead at 5) Stanley Cups-2 and World Series Titles have all come through Pittsburgh over the years. Want a famous thing, how about all the doctors and hospital care that they are KNOWN for but most don't realize it. What has Philly done? Don't claim the Birth of America because that was IN Philly but not BECAUSE Philly. Pittsburgh wasn't even around yet. How about the First COMMERICAL RADIO STATION-KDKA. Hey if we want to claim things just because they happen there Pittsburgh started commerical radio.

Win back to back Stanley Cups, Win the Super Bowl 5 times, house some of the greatest athletes (Lemieux, Jagr, Crosby, Bettis, Bradshaw, Lambert, Marino, Clemente, Wagner...), oh - and you know that tasty red stuff you dip your french fries in...yeah, thank the Heinz company and the city of Pittsburgh.

Let us count the ways.
People in Philly, on balance, are rude, loud and verbose.
The Crime rate in Philly is on par with Baltimore and DC, whereas in PGH there is virtually no crime.
You are so close to NJ that you can smell it in Philly; in PGH you are close to mountains, rivers and lots of healthy outdoor activities.
There hasn't been a smoke stack at a steel mill burning for over 20 years in PGH and it is a lot greener and cleaner than Philly.
So chow down on your Cheesesteaks, and hope that you get hit with that coronary before some knucklehead caps you in a drive by.

Wow, sounds like someone is mad because their teams won't make any playoffs for the next 10 years. Pittsburgh is a city of firsts. First ferris wheel. First polio vaccine. First commercial radio station. First open heart surgery. First heart transplant. I could go on. What has Philadelphia done besides boo Santa Claus?
