I am not homophobic, just know what perversion and abominations are. As for History, ancient Rome fell into every manner or licentiousness-and some were turned over to a reprobate mind. And all manner of judgment fell on them. Look what happened to Rome people. Given the level of judgment some perverts have today, many are not far from the same point.
I tolerate homosexuals as I do alcoholics or addicts. I certainly care for them just not their special brand of sin. Some sins are regular, some are abominations. History lesson- Remember what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah: remember Lots wife? I think God is trying to tell you people something-don't even think about, let alone do, the things that went on there!

Life is way too short to worry about hating other people, it's far more important to take care of your own stuff rather than to waste time hating others.
Why would you want to announce you are a homophobe? To prove what? Most people would consider you ignorant moreso than anything else.
Why are you homophobic? It's likely ignorance. Do you know a homosexual person? My guess is you probably think you have never associated with one in your life, but you're only kidding yourself if you believe that.
A lot of times, people who are outspoken homophobics do so because they themselves are deeply closeted homosexuals but use it as a shield to hide behind to reduce the chances of anyone they associate with suspecting they are gay.
So, really, what experience have you had that qualifies you to consider yourself a homophobic person? You were not born homophobic, humans are not born with hatred, it is something that is developed. You need to think about that - what has a homosexual person done directly to you that brought on such hatred? I'm guessing: absolutely nothing. I think if any homophobic person really took a moment to look at things from a realistic perspective, they too would realize there is no reason to fear or hate homosexuals, and that their fear and hate stems from a pure ignorance of homosexuality.

If you are tired of being in-tolerated than why so intolerant of gays? It is the same thing.
Anyhow society as a whole has decided to accept gay people as a normal and acceptable lifestyle choice. That it is not an illness and is an actual state of being. If you do not accept it it is your right however it is not acceptable to hate these people or abuse them for who they are.
Expect allot of flack for this question but I truly admire you being honest about the way you feel. Wrong or Right it takes a brave person to take a stand and be open to the criticisms that will be endured as a result.
The fastest way to get over homophobia is to actually meet a gay person who you can relate to.they are not all flaming drag queens or sex maniacs as so often portrayed in the media than can be as normal as you and I except for their sexual preference which is really a private issue that is conducted with other consenting adults. Pretty harmless.

You have a good point. Tolerance is not acceptance. You are just putting up with whatever it is you don't agree with. So what would be the difference between a gay pride parade, and a heterosexual pride parade? Both are shoving that lifestyle down your throat. The only difference in today's society is that if you participated in a heterosexual pride parade, you would most likely be stoned in the street. That is just one example of the hypocrisy of the U.S. Governments. Whom ever screams the loudest will have their voice heard, and all others are forced to put up with it. Liberty and Justice for some.

As society advances towards truth, intolerance is no longer accepted. Also fifty years ago, African-Americans were segregated from schools, not allowed to drink from the same water fountains as their white brothers and horribly discriminated against by laws derived from archaic ways of thinking... not so different from YOUR archaic ways of thinking.
A little over sixty years ago, Hitler almost took over the world with his intolerance and hatred. He murdered thousands of Jews, Gay People, and anyone who didn't accept his evil propaganda.
If everyone thought as you do, my friend, we wouldn't have advanced much from those days. My advice to you is to read a book, open your mind, and empathize with your fellow human beings. Peace.

It sounds like you are the illiterate person who has never read a History book or simply in denial about the racism that was indeed rampant 50-60 years ago. The laws that forbade interracial marriage haven't been gone for that long.
There are Homophobic Pride Parades, they call them KKK rallies.

Then why don't you throw the damn parade already?! I accept you, you have the right to be homophobic and closed minded. So go be homophobic and closed minded. And what is wrong with it is that the times change, society and culture have changed, and society's values have changed. Therefore, either you adapt and overcome, or you get left behind with your ancient way of thinking.

OK then, how about THIS one. 300 (or however many) years ago, people thought that leeches cured people by draining their blood. 1000 years ago people thought that the earth traveled around the sun. Quite frankly, times change. As we become more intelligent, we change our viewpoints.
I accept the fact that that you don't like gays. I have no problem with that for whatever reason(s) you may have. All I ask, though, is that you don't come here and spout your opinions, and I will not do that to you either.

Firstly; what is normal?
Secondly; society is growing more tolerate towards Homosexuals. Many people have accepted them in society and consider them equal to everyone else.
In my opinion, those who are homophobic are becoming more and more of a minority in society.
Lastly; homophobic pride parades!!??
You're asking to be called a homophobic freak, aren't you?

No functional individual believes we could consistently no longer help the undesirable (please observe the various right here on YA! politics are unreasonable). If that have been all we've been doing functional people might have little to gripe approximately. yet we are actually not in basic terms assisting the undesirable. we are offering billions, trillions in company welfare. the wealthy and stable midsection classification are taking area in the backside tax expenses of the final 70 years however the government can not pay all the charges for the centers we call for from it. there is yet another Kennedy quote that folk could heed: "Ask no longer what your united states of america can do for you yet what are you able to do on your united states of america". it sort of feels to me that the small 'sacrifice' of quite finding out to purchase what we ask from our government is extra suitable than functional. Our fathers and grandfathers did. whilst they borrowed it replaced into to handle huge problems and go away us extra suitable than in basic terms their debt. Our Grandchildren will hate us - all we are leaving them is debt and a crumbling, much less knowledgeable, much less ultimate united states of america so we are in a position to relish tax expenses under all and sundry else in modern-day situations.
