I have a patched up1987 cabriolet, I have been chasing vacuum leaks. Does anyoneone know if using a slightly different size hose for a vacuum leak affects anything? I've got it running, but nows its missfiring.

you can use a bigger hos,as long as it fits tight on the fitting.its probably not that.start your car and pick up the throttle some and hold it and see if it smoothes out.if it doesnt, then it must me plugs or wires.
