Ask them to rephrase the question--what is it exactly do they want to know? A lot of younger kids are just looking for someone older to pay attention to them, and chances are they're probably just hoping that you'll talk to them.

Give a simple, honest answer to an honest question. Most 5 to 7 year olds will ask sincere questions. Sometimes the 8 to 10 year olds will ask questions as a prank or to just get attention... if that's the case, then simply tell them in a polite way that the answer is none of their business. That should stop the ones who are in it to joke around.

Try to answer honestly, or if you don't feel that you can (because you suspect some motive for asking), ask why they are asking.
