No,I couldn't go-watching that makes me feel incredibly greedy thinking of all the things I have & sometimes thinking 'I wish I had.....'-We are incredibly fortunate in our lives not to have been born into that kind of abject poverty.

Hopefully when I qualify as a nurse and get some experience behind me I would love to go out and work there for a few weeks with the people who need care like many seen last night, and I sat in tears aswell.

I could, I found myself sadly in some tragic situations as a police officer. I tried to take comfort in the fact that I made people's lives better in some cases.
I took 2 children away from their parents who had starved and abused them. You could see fingerpint bruises on their arms where the Father who was high would grab them.
The psychologist who dealt with them said that they had "concentration camp survivor syndrome" from what they had been through. It broke my heart to see their smiles of gratitude when we fed and bathed them. Absolutely incredible that people can do that to others.
The good thing is my testimony and compellling photos gave the judge the right to REVOKE their parents ability to ever see the kids, and when the Mom met a new abusive boyfriend that took that baby too.
One of my most shining moments actually. I'm no saint but I got to God's work a time or two and I was glad of it. I cried later, but at the time I would've gladly been the sword of God descending on their parents if I could've.

i cried too, but it's not our fault. it's the rulers of the countries that are as much to blame. what has improved since Live Aid 20 years ago ?
my cousin and his wife spend most of their time in Kenya. they are building an orphanage at the minute. the videos they bring home of the kids are awesome. how those kids stay so happy is a mystery to me, singing and laughing all the time.
i couldn't go out there either. hats off to those who do.

it replaced into poor to observe, do you extremely think of the money will make plenty distinction. sorry to be cynical yet maximum of that funds will circulate to directors and despite does get with the aid of to the nurses and young ones won't final extra suitable than a three hundred and sixty 5 days. africa is a widespread black hollow the place healthcare is in touch and for each new child it is helped yet another 1000 will die. its like pissing into an ocean.

Yes I could, although I would need decent funding and resources behind me or I would feel like a voyeur and rather helpless. . . Its so tough if you see these films and you want to give but you just cant - capitalist society would come and bite you on the *** for doing so in the form of bank charges !
