Mum.
You sang along when Elvis did his thing,
Man those hips of his could swing.
John Travolta had a Saturday Night fever craze,
"The Boss" Springsteen, strutted his stuff,
Man those were the Days,
Elvis was King, Spring stein was Boss and Travolta was really buff.
Now you're still cool and a Rocker too.
AC DC now sounds good to both me and You.
Happy Rocker chicks Day.
It may not be what you're looking for, but I enjoyed doing it.I hope your Mum gets a cool Poem. You know regardless the 1 you think up yourself will be the most precious one. Take it from a Mum and Grand Mum.Ciao Lynda

The love of a Mother
Is more Precious
Than gold
It is a Love
That never changes
Even as we grow old
Always loving
And forgiving
No matter what
We may do
There is no other Love
That is so strong
And so true
She will take
All the hurt
And the pain
The world has to give
No words of complain
Will you ever hear Her speak
She will hide it away
So that we never see
But her Love for us
Will always stay the same
PS--I made this up

A poem written entirely by someone else is not much of a gift from the heart. I'm sure she would much prefer something written by you regardless of it's quality.

For all that you have given me,
I can return but love. For you
Bound up the wounds I did not see
And gave me hopes and passions new.
I can return but love for you,
Whose unmoved faith my heart did move,
And gave me hopes and passions new,
And loved me till I turned to love.
Whose unmoved faith did my heart move?
The mother of my heart, not blood,
Who loved me till I turned to love.
And I became the soul I would.
The mother of my heart, not blood,
Bound up the wounds I did not see.
And I became the soul I would
For all that you have given me.
and
Before I was myself you made me, me
With love and patience, discipline and tears,
Then bit by bit stepped back to set me free,
Allowing me to sail upon my sea,
Though well within the headlands of your fears.
Before I was myself you made me, me
With dreams enough of what I was to be
And hopes that would be sculpted by the years,
Then bit by bit stepped back to set me free,
Relinquishing your powers gradually
To let me shape myself among my peers.
Before I was myself you made me, me,
And being good and wise, you gracefully
As dancers when the last sweet cadence nears
Bit by bit stepped back to set me free.
For love inspires learning naturally:
The mind assents to what the heart reveres.
And so it was through love you made me, me
By slowly stepping back to set me free.
