If there's one movie that's dying to be remade. This is it! I think Michael Bay (Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, Transformers) would be an excellent director for this movie from a visual standpoint. But, think of the 'emotion' Peter Jackson could pull out of a movie like this? That would be awesome as well. I think Turner Broadcasting has the rights and they could easily turn it into a 'made-for-cable' mini-series, but I would really like it to be made for the big screen, with big actors and big budget. If it has a director that can pull some heart out of it, then it could give 'Titanic' a run for it's money, respectively, imho.

No! No! A thousand times no! The beauty and art of Clash of the Titans is that it was Ray Harryhausen special effects making the creatures and monsters come to life. His work on Medusa is one of the most beautiful and horrifying creatures to date.
There is an art to stop-motion animation (not "claymation" as another poster suggests), that cannot be duplicated with CGI. For film purists, the stop-motion animation in films like King Kong, Jason and the Argonauts, or The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad is perfect just the way it is.
To suggest that Clash of the Titans needs to be remade is to show a lack of understanding of film as an art form. Films should not be remade, especially because new technology allows for more convincing effects. If Hollywood wants to make a fantasy film with CGI effects, my suggestion is to find a new story, a new script, with new ideas. Don't taint the memory of a Harryhausen classic by giving it the CGI treatment.

Excellent point. The fx were pretty state of the art when the original came out in the 80's, but oh yes, it would be a visual feast these days *the Krakken and Calibos alone would be CGI visions :)*

That Claymation was awesome. Todays technology and media mix could make or break that wonderful old tale.
